Baiersdorf, 2 April 2008 - The IT company MHGS DICOM Solutions,
which is located in the German "medical valley" near Erlangen,
gives away free software licenses for the comprehensive
Windows-based application PowerDicom until mid-May of this year.

In clinics and surgeries, high-quality diagnostic images (such as
x-ray, ultrasound, MR, CT, etc.) are increasingly stored in
digital form. Thereto, the globally accepted standard DICOM
(Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) is used. DICOM
files contain not only the image data itself, but also a wealth of
other information (e.g. about the patient or recording parameters).

With PowerDicom, DICOM files can be analyzed and modified easily.
PowerDicom comes in several editions. MHGS grants free licences
for the most powerful Expert Edition. The licenses are valid for
one year and without any functional limitation.

Persons working in medicine, medical technology, or similar, who
didn't work with PowerDicom yet, can apply for a free PowerDicom
license. They only need to register through a web form.

With this campaign, MHGS wants to make it possible for potential
customers to become acquanted with PowerDicom without any costs or
commitments.

MHGS was founded in 2004 by the physicist Marianne Goeltl-Schuberth
and rapidly developed to the technological leader for DICOM
transformations. The performance spectrum of MHGS goes far beyond
DICOM and also includes software for mathematics, document
management and databases.
Manufacturers, hospitals, universities, physicians, and other
customers from more than 20 countries use the know-how of MHGS.
Main markets are Western and Central Europe, as well as North America.
