Weird Kid Software Releases New Version of Emailchemy
Emailchemy reads email from the closed, proprietary file formats of the most popular (and many of yesterday's forgotten) email applications and converts it to standard, portable formats that any application can use. These standard formats are ideal for long term archival, database entry, forensic analysis and eDiscovery, or migrating to new email applications. Emailchemy also provides utilities for migration, uploading to Google Apps, splitting, sorting and merging email archives, and harvesting email addresses from email archives.
Emailchemy currently can natively read the email files from: AOL for Windows ("PFC" files); Claris Emailer 1.x; Claris Emailer 2.x; CompuServe Classic for Mac (aka "MacCIM"); CompuServe 2000 for Windows; Entourage (Database and .rge Archives); Eudora; Mac OS X Mail; Mozilla; Mulberry; Musashi; Neoplanet; Netscape; Opera; Outlook for Windows; Outlook Express for Mac, Windows and UNIX/Solaris; PowerTalk/AOCE for Mac; QuickMail Pro for Mac and Windows; Thunderbird; Yahoo!; and more.
Because Emailchemy reads these files natively, it can convert any of these formats on any platform -- no need to re-install old email programs or boot up old computers.
Personal Edition licenses of Emailchemy cost $29.50 and are available for Mac OS X, Windows, and Unix/Linux. Professional, CLI and Java API versions are available.
Version 9.9 adds:
- Support for Mail 4.0 (Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard")
- AOL for Windows converter preserves attachments
- Entourage Cache converter preserves attachments
- Improvements to conversion log feature
- Optional checksums calculated before and after reading
- Bug fixes for GUI and several converters
